The date palm is a thousand year old cultivated plant, the origin of which can be traced back to 6000 BC. 1500 different types of dates are grown depending on the country of origin and differ in size, color, shape and taste.
The thinner the skin and the thicker the flesh, the more valuable the date.
The date fruits of the dried plant are considered a nutrient bomb, which should be on the menu regularly due to their extraordinary properties.


With its considerable weight of up to 30 grams, the Medjool date is the "queen of dates" and is valued for its extremely juicy flesh, unmistakable volume and intense caramel note. It is considered a delicacy and costs significantly more than its smaller counterparts.
In Morocco, it is said to have only been allowed in royal households in the past.


The term "bread of the desert" is not attributed to the date without reason. It is a staple in desert regions due to its unique nutritional profile, long shelf life and ease of storage. Not only is it rich in antioxidants, but it also has large amounts of minerals, fiber and significant amounts of vitamin C and iron. Thanks to its high carbohydrate content, it provides the body with plenty of energy and prevents concentration problems. Combined with large amounts of magnesium and calcium, the date is the perfect snack for athletes and active people.
Their natural fructose, combined with plenty of fiber and carbohydrates, causes the blood sugar level to rise slowly and can thus counteract cravings.


But dates can do even more!
It is known that dates have many positive effects on the human body. They are said to have a positive effect on diseases of the cardiovascular system, hyperthyroidism, insomnia and obesity.
The ingredients in the dates act as radical scavengers, which u.A. also counteract the development of cancer. Regular consumption of two to three dates before bed can have a calming effect. Large amounts of vitamins A and B1 have a positive effect on the nervous system and can lower blood pressure.
The natural fructose of the date promotes the absorption of tryptophan in the brain, so dates can help to keep a cool head in stressful situations or even increase mood.
The dried date is also said to be effective against liver poisoning when consumed daily. Dates also promote digestion due to the folic acid and fiber they contain. The date fruit is also said to make childbirth easier. If at least six dates are consumed daily four weeks beforehand, pain and complications can be overcome more easily. In Islam, this effect has been known for a very long time. For this reason, it is regularly consumed by pregnant women in Islam. Despite their high sugar content, dates only have a few calories and therefore do not promote fat formation, although the rule here is to enjoy them in moderation. They give you energy for the day, so three to four are enough.
